CFCC in Cagbuhangin, Ormoc

RDII-Leyte, KFFN, SLF and two hardworking volunteers from Sweden and Denmark, Architect Jakob Gate & Project Manager Cecilie Wang, combined their efforts to realize a child-friendly community center in Cagbuhangin, Ormoc. Jakob & Cecilie worked completely voluntarily for 10 months to design and manage this project and on October 6th the brand new Children's Learning Center was turned over to the people of Cagbuhangin.

Upland Barangay Cagbuhangin in Ormoc is where 55 families from coastal areas were resettled through the efforts of UNDP after typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. Through the neverending commitment of our local partner RDII-Leyte, Rural Development Initiatives of the Islands of Leyte, the wonderful fundraising efforts of KFFN, Kalayaan Fiesta Foundation in the Netherlands, and the kindness & dedication of Jakob & Cecilie, founders of Native Narrative, the Sheryl Lynn Foundation has been able to start a new project: a much needed Children's Learning Center in Cagbuhangin. Correspondent Jhay Gaspar writes about the Groundbreaking Ceremony and other updates in this published article:
